The University of North Alabama padded the outfield at Mike D. Lane Field using three different pad configurations:

  1. Stacked panels. The left field wall and left field sideline run 16 feet tall at its highest points, requiring us to stack two standard 8 foot panels. 
  2. Standard 8 foot pads. The majority of the wall, at conventional outfield height.
  3. Square rail & post pads. Where there is chain link, the rails & posts exclusively. This keeps the fence transparent, so the bullpens can watch the game.

Every pad is the same purple, so a wall that changes construction three times reads as one continuous surface from the infield.
