Meeting NCAA Fence Top Padding Requirements
Starting in 2027, NCAA Rule 2.15 requires all baseball and softball venues to pad every hard surface a player could collide with. Fence tops on outfield walls, sideline fences, and dugout perimeters all fall under this mandate. Padding must start no higher than 1 foot off the ground and extend to the top of the structure or 6 feet, whichever is shorter.
